When are tomorrow's electricity prices released?
The electricity prices for the next day are set every day around 13:00. If you have an hourly price contract, this is the time when you (or your smart home) can start planning your charging.
Hourly price contracts and Spot Price – What does it mean?
To benefit from the price variations during the day, you need an hourly price contract with your electricity company (such as Tibber or Vattenfall). With an hourly price contract, you pay the exact price (spot price on Nordpool) for the hour you use the electricity, instead of an average price.
How can technology help me save money?
Manually trying to remember to start the washing machine or plug in the EV at 02:00 at night is not sustainable. Modern electrical installation solves this for you automatically.
- Smart EV Chargers: Zaptec Go and Easee can be integrated directly with your electricity company to only charge the car during the hours the price is lowest.
- Smart Home Control (Plejd/Wiser): Automate heat pumps and water heaters to heat the house right before the electricity price rises in the morning.
