Outlets & Installation

Upgrade to Grounded Outlets

Do you have old ungrounded outlets at home? We help you pull in ground wires and replace outlets for a safer living environment that meets today's requirements.

Why ground outlets?

In older houses, ungrounded electrical outlets are still common. The problem often arises when renovating, buying new computers, or modern home electronics that have grounded plugs. If a fault occurs in an ungrounded appliance, its entire metal casing becomes live. With a grounded outlet, the current is led directly away to the electrical panel, saving lives.

When MUST you upgrade from ungrounded to grounded?

  • When renovating a kitchen: Modern requirements mandate grounded outlets in areas close to water.
  • When installing underfloor heating: The same applies here; underfloor heating always requires grounded environments and an RCD.
  • When changing floors to tiles: If you have ungrounded outlets in a room with a wooden floor and change to a conductive material like stone/tiles, the outlets must be grounded.

How it works when our electrician replaces outlets

Simply replacing the plastic cover (the outlet) on the wall is not enough. Our certified electricians open the outlets and pull a new protective earth conductor (the yellow-green wire) all the way back through the conduit system in your walls to the electrical panel. Then, the new, safe, and stylish grounded outlets are installed.
