How do I get started? (4 steps)
- Choose and install a smart EV charger: We help you choose the right model for your property and your car.
- Get Tibber: Download the Tibber app, register an account, and select an hourly price contract.
- Connect the device: Connect the EV charger in the Tibber app under Settings → Devices.
- Turn on smart charging: Activate Smart Charging and specify when the car should be fully charged. Done!
What happens if electricity is expensive all night?
If the spot price does not drop enough to charge to the desired level by the set time, Tibber prioritizes that the car is ready in time anyway. The system then charges during the cheapest available hours during the night. You never risk standing with an empty battery in the morning.

Does Smart Charging work if the Wi-Fi connection drops?
Yes, the EV charger falls back to its last setting and charges anyway. If nothing else has been set, charging starts immediately when the cable is plugged in.
Can I use Tibber without a smart EV charger?
Yes, Tibber works with any EV charger, but the Smart Charging feature requires an integrated unit. If the charger lacks support, you can instead control Smart Charging directly via the car's own app (if the car model supports it).
Does it work with all EV models?
Yes. If Smart Charging is controlled via the EV charger, the car brand does not matter. Tibber also features direct integration with cars from e.g. Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, and Volkswagen's ID series.
